Jeni Clarke - sculptures
Jeni studied sculpture at the Camden Arts Centre in London in the Seventies. She is married with four grandsons and works from her home in Buckinghamshire.
Her work is mostly figurative and she especially loves horses.
Jeni plans her pieces with a passion and emotion and hopes that is something others will feel. Before she starts a new sculpture she makes a maquette to guide her which often changes as she goes Then she make a metal armature which she build her figure on in either clay or newplast. Following that a rubber mould is made of the piece, and a rigid shell. This is cast in bronze resin or sent to a foundry for pure bronze.
This all takes a considerable time and she only casts in editions of 10.
